Unfortunately, most parents do not value education enough to teach its value to their children. The schools are no longer allowed to discipline for fear of getting sued. This has led to the "downfall" of education that everyone talks about. As a teacher, I have been saying for years that I wish we offered cash incentives to PARENTS. Those that attend open house, conferences, and help with homework. If cash incentives are honestly the last resort, then I don't have much hope for the future generations. Is there really no desire to learn anymore? Do parents not encourage kids to focus on school?
