The black gorges national park is located in the South West of the island and covers 3.5 percent of its entire surface. It is purely one of the best places to visit in Mauritius. If you are into hiking and nature then this place is for you. The visitors are recommended to come on September to January and it is the best time to appreciate the spectacular growth and lushness deep within the forest.Take a break by the river, where you can freshen up in the natural clear water pool, enjoy a swim in the river or under the waterfall, or dive from the rocks into the natural pool. It is an ideal day out for families, providing great fun for all. It is the only place in the whole island where you have the largest choice of foods and cuisines; entertainments. La Vanille Reserve – Crocodile & Giant Tortoises Park

The Crocodile & Giant Tortoises Park is a beautiful rain forested valley and one of the most fascinating spot in the world. It is the home to various species of animals, reptiles and plants is set with natural fresh water springs, full of fishes. You can watch them in maximum safety. The park will be available for all the seven days. You will see the crocodiles in their different stages of growth. Many of the animals are kept in cages to make it as a zoo than a nature reserve park. Inside the park you will find the recommended Hungry Crocodile Restaurant that offers Mauritian food and international dishes, and also several dishes made with crocodile, which are definitely worth a try. There is also Jungle Adventure Playground which leads you to have fun attractions and activities, especially designed for children. The infants may want to take a photograph by sitting on a back of the shell. You will be pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere.
